I’ll work hard to make life better, because I believe we deserve better.
What’s important to you is important to me. As someone who is familiar with struggle, I'm running to make our corner of Alabama healthier, more affordable, and more just. And I’ll be your voice to hold Montgomery accountable to all those who live, work, and learn in District 22.
POLICIES + ISSUES
In my criminal-justice journey, I've learned that crime prevention starts long before an arrest is made. When people have safe housing, quality healthcare, and access to education, communities thrive. Investing in these fundamentals isn't just good policy! It's the most effective crime prevention strategy there is.
Healthcare
A good life in District 22 is becoming unattainable, and corporate greed is a big reason why. Large investment companies, out-of-state buyers, and real estate firms are purchasing multiple single-family homes at a time, driving up prices and fueling overdevelopment. We cannot allow millionaires and billionaires to price us out of our own communities.
When elected, I will bring real data to the table on how bulk home buying is affecting our district. I'll push for greater transparency in property ownership and support reasonable limits on large-scale purchases of single-family homes, protecting the people who call District 22 home while still allowing for responsible growth.
Education
Every child in District 22 deserves a fair start. I will work to expand access to Alabama's First-Class Pre-K program, increase funding to match community demand, and prioritize rural and underserved areas when new classrooms are added.
Our public schools need the resources to support early learning, because investing in children is one of the highest-return investments we can make.
Housing
Our healthcare system should work for families, not against them. Hidden healthcare costs are being passed onto working families through higher premiums and taxes, and that has to stop. I will champion efforts to close the coverage gap and bring more state healthcare dollars back into our local communities.
And I'll push for stronger oversight when rural facilities are at risk, and work to ensure that essential services—including emergency and maternity care—remain accessible to everyone in the district.
I will vote to expand Medicaid (Albritton has voted repeatedly against it). And I will work to restore access to reproductive rights.
Human Equality
Every eligible voter deserves equal, easy access to the ballot. But Albritton’s voting record shows he believes otherwise.
I will fight to protect and expand voting access: including protections for elderly and disabled voters, and measures that make participating in democracy simpler, not harder.
Your voice in government is a constitutional right, and I will defend it.
Criminal Justice Reform
Republicans say they're tough on crime — but incarceration alone doesn't prevent it. Real crime prevention starts with housing, healthcare, and opportunity.
And while Albritton voted to divert federal COVID relief money and allow the state to borrow $500 million to build a new prison, I will work to get our prisons and jails where they need to be by supporting humane, rehabilitative prison programs, advocating for restoring voting rights for incarcerated people, and opposing policies that prioritize building more prisons over investing in people.
I will also vote to abolish the death penalty in Alabama.
Voting Rights
Every Alabamian deserves to be treated with dignity.
I will work to respect and preserve the culture and heritage of all races and genders.
I will oppose efforts to erase or suppress the histories and identities that make our communities whole.
